Your healthy plants can be destroyed by the vegetable garden pests in a matter of days. If you want the problem to be prevented, the dangerous and chemical pesticides should be avoided. They are very toxic to both adults, children and pets. Instead, some natural, homemade and simple pesticide methods are available, and they are a great way to keep your garden every time.
The pests in your vegetable garden can be removed by using certain bulb vegetables such as onions and garlic. One garlic clove or large piece of onion should be crushed and then combined with one gallon of water. The mixture should be sprayed directly on your soil around your plants and shrubs.
The soft bodied pests can be killed by the mixture and the flying insects can be repelled. You can regularly apply the mixture, maybe daily if possible; being consistent is the key to keeping your plants healthy.
Slay the Slug
Your eggshells should be saved so that they can be mixed with common table salt, so a coarse mixture can be formed. This should be sprinkled around the garden area where the slugs like to crawl. The slugs will think that the eggshells are the razors and they will be disintegrated by salt. This mixture should be placed around the perimeter of the garden and not near the plants, because the plants could be damaged by the salt.
Dish Soap and Oil
A tablespoon of dish soap and a mixture of 1 cup of vegetable oil should be¬†combined¬†in the spray bottle. Before the entire garden is sprayed, the mixture should be tested on tender plants. This mixture can directly be administered on the insects causing damage. You can repeat this remedy every 7 ‚Äď 10 days.
Hot Sauces, Onions and Garlic
A clove of garlic and an onion should be¬†crushed and¬†mixed with ¬Ĺ cup of hot sauce. This is highly recommended, because it will work as well. This mixture should be¬†added to a gallon of water and¬†should be¬†allowed to steep¬†in the sunshine for an hour or two. And then the mixture should be¬†strained and then¬†poured into a spray bottle. On a windy day, you should not use this¬†organic pesticide. The mixture should also be sprayed on the garden plants, so they can be protected and avoided from mites and other tiny pests.
Spraying liquid dishwashing detergent on plants should be combined by one of the popular organic pesticides. Spider mites, aphids and white flies can be deterred by this effectively treatment. And it will work as well for any other common pests while sprayed on cucumbers, carrots, peppers, eggplants and other vegetables. The detergent, water and vegetable oil should be mixed, so you can make a basic formula.
